Tricell

Tricell Inc. was a multi-industrial conglomerate and member of the Federation Of Pharmaceutical Companies.  Tricell is compose of three (hence the name TRI which means 3) organizations from its original title, Travis Trading Enterprises, becoming the name Tricell due to the triumvirate cells that formed them.

The West African branch of Tricell, led by Excella Gionne, worked right beside Albert Wesker to develop the Uroboros Virus, in a secret underground facility in the Autonomous Zone of Kijuju.  Before the lab entrance is a secret flower garden that the flowers possessed the Progenitor Virus, Wesker and Excella extracted from as well as Las Plagas samples.  Before they were able to unleash the Uroboros Virus, the BSAA thwarted their plans, causing both their deaths. Tricell then shut down after that.

The three sectors of the Tricell logo were the pharmaceutical, shipping, and natural resources. The pharmaceutical sector was formed after Tricell collected medicine herbs in Africa.  The shipping sector had foundations within the Travis family business in Asia.  And the natural resources sector was known for their extraction of fossil fuels, operating in the oil fields in West Africa.

Much like the former Umbrella Corporation, Tricell was a member of the Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies. Umbrella became too much trouble for the Federation, being too heavy in bio organic weaponry.  This, along with their involvement in the disaster of Raccoon City would be their undoing as a company.

History

The origins of Tricell goes back to an 18th century merchant named Thomas Travis, during the Age of Exploration, when he founded a trading company.  Entering into the 19th century, Thomas's wealthy descendant, Henry Travis, funded the expedition with his wealth to the African continent.  This would later be a major impact to the future of the trading firm.

Travis made five expeditions to Africa during a period of 34 years.  During that time, Travis wrote an encyclopedia of 72 volumes detailing the culture and tradition of the people, the local geology and ecology.  Bad news is due to the fact that his book volumes dealt with licensing and fabricated by the scientific community, that only a few copies were printed.  Henry's older brother ran the Travis caused disassociation with Henry's work, because to the nature of tales written that survived into the 21st century.  Henry went through a depression and died the following two year after his return from Africa failing to become a hero like Livingstone.

At the end of the 19th Century, the firm made its first expansion by using the geological information from Henry's encyclopedia to make significant inroads in Africa's natural resource extraction by mining for precious metals, oil and gas. It was during this process that the company began obtaining samples of various African animal and plant species, intending to sell them to the naturalists within the scientific community. The medicinal qualities of some of these samples are noted by the company as a potential source of revenue, thus creating the third 'cell' of the company which was the pharmaceutical sector in the mid-20th century.

In the 1960s, the company went through a significant change with the three sectors by becoming the "cells" of the new company, "TRICELL". At some point, Tricell became affiliated with The Connections.

After The Events Of Raccoon City

After Umbrella was put on trial for their direct involvement in the virus outbreak of Raccoon City that ultimately lead to the city's destruction, the Federation of Pharmaceutical Companies, which Tricell was a member of, was disgraced when people around the world began to distrust any kind of pharmaceutical companies thanks to Umbrella. The organization's reputation was damaged further when it became apparent that Umbrella was using its fellow medical corporations as suppliers for chemicals that Umbrella used for its bio-weapons program. The FPC and TRICELL willingly handed over documents regarding their dealings to be used against Umbrella after it was agreed that they themselves would not be investigated further. After Umbrella lost the Raccoon Trials, the FPC began to restore its image by founding and funding the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA). TRICELL was soon a major funder of this organization.

Despite this, TRICELL showed intimate interest in the use of bio-weapons soon after the formation of the BSAA, as they had assisted in the development of the T-Abyss Virus, which they managed to re-acquire a sample of thanks to their moles Jessica Sherawat and Raymond Vester in the BSAA and the FBC, respectively, during the Queen Zenobia incident. TRICELL also secretly worked with former U.S. Military Major General Wilson in order to create super soldiers using a modified version of the T-Virus while testing the results in the Penamstan Civil War. While the initial test went awry, they learned that the "Mad Dogs" unit had been infected and used them as test subjects for their experimental drug that could suppress the virus and mutation if taken regularly. When Wilson became the Secretary of Defense for the U.S. under the Graham administration, only Jason from the Mad Dogs was still alive due to the other members of his unit committing suicide to prevent themselves from becoming zombies. When Wilson's crimes were later exposed to the president after attempting to frame China for an attack and he had been infected by a mutated Jason, he was forced on the run and had to keep relying on TRICELL's drug to prevent himself from becoming a zombie.

When a fellow pharmaceutical giant – WP Corporation – collapsed after it was revealed that their head researcher Frederic Downing had made dealings with bioterrorists by selling the samples of the T-Virus in order to make hefty profits for the company once the T-Vaccine entered circulation, TRICELL purchased what was left of the company. During its investigation of the corporation's ruinous Air Dome Laboratory, its hazmat crews stumbled upon part of a tail believed to be from the G-Virus-infected Curtis Miller. The company proceeded to hack into the computer of US Senator Ron Davis as well as having him assassinated and completely wiping it to tie any loose ends up.

Tricell's Partnership With Wesker

Former S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team captain, Albert Wesker, an power hungry agent betrayed Umbrella and made sure of the company's collapse.  He broke into the Caucasus Russia facility, stole and downloaded the entire data of Umbrella to form his own version of Umbrella to lead the world into a new age.  After his mission in Russia in 2003, he contacted Tricell to work with them secretly.

Wesker agreed to give Tricell the samples of the T-Virus and T-Veronica Virus to use for experimenting in exchange for his resources he accumulated from Umbrella.  However, when Wesker caught up to the former fugitive and CEO of Umbrella, Spencer, Wesker learned of his existence. Wesker realized that Spencer's vision for the world is the reason why humanity needed a repair, Wesker killed Spencer, deciding to remake the world that itself was being destroyed.  He continued to use the research assets he obtained from Umbrella to continue working with Tricell.

Wesker and Excella would meet up and discuss their ideas.  They agreed to change the world for the sake of humanity's survival.  They forged a partnership, having Excella become CEO.  The doubts from their superiors, Excella needed to prove herself to them that her plans with Wesker will be useful.  Wesker provided them with sample of the Las Plagas, perfecting it as a Type-2 Plaga and Type-3 Plaga, with the assistance of Tricell researcher, Ricardo Irving.  The success of the development of the Plaga parasite secured Excella's position of CEO in West Africa.  The two began development of the most powerful bioweapon yet, the Uroboros Virus, which is an advancement of the Progenitor Virus.

Having all of the data he stole from Umbrella, and the personal records of Spencer, Wesker lead Tricell into an underground former Umbrella research center, and began production of the Uroboros Virus.  Tricell's activities would catch the attention of the BSAA agents Chris Redfield, Sheva Alomar, Jill Valentine and Captain Josh Stone. Irving was defeated, Jill was freed of her brainwashing condition, Wesker betrayed Excella revealing that considers himself a god with no intensions of having her as his queen of the world.  Wesker would shortly be defeated for the last time by Chris and Sheva, along with the Uroboros Virus.

The End For Tricell And Their Legacy

Following Wesker's failed plans, the number of human rights violations connected with a number of Tricell's researchers and the implications of Tricell's pharmaceutical division dealing in the bioterrorism market, the rest of the company was condemned by the events following the BSAA investigation. By 2011, the stirrings about a new virus and references to Tricell came from Washington and the news hit TerraSave senior Neil Fisher who expressed his concerns regarding it toward a fellow member named Claire Redfield. However, Claire reassured him that Tricell was gone for good and there was nothing to worry about. A B.S.A.A. member named Barry Burton encountered the B.O.W.s that were created on a secluded island by Alex Wesker by using the same Uroboros virus that was conceived by her "brother", Albert Wesker and TRICELL. TRICELL's position in the black market was replaced by Glenn Arias, and The Connections maintained complete control of ARK.

Extra Note

Tricell's Pharmaceutical Division was part of a federation which help fund the BSAA.
