Trivia
Work on the story began in Spring 2020, following the release of Resident Evil 3 Remake.
When talking about their past experiences Jill Valentine mentions how Albert Wesker brainwashed her to attack Chris, and Chris Redfield mentions his last partner Piers Nivans who gave his life to save him. They're talking about the events that took place in Resident Evil 5 (2009) and Resident Evil 6 (2012), respectively.
Leon makes a joke about needing a vacation once the Death Island incident is over. Paying in mind that the last two times he had one, it got interrupted. The first time in Damnation, by his superiors; the second in Vendetta, due to Chris unintentionally dragging him in.
This marks the first time all the living protagonists have worked together.
The writers confirmed that Jill ages slower thanks to the experimentation Wesker did on her. Which is why they use the model from the Resident Evil 3 reboot.
For the first time ever, the movie features three of the four survivors of "The Mansion Incident" which took place in Resident Evil (1996, 2002) together: Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Rebecca Chambers.
Marks Jill Valentine's first canonical appearance in the Resident Evil franchise since Resident Evil 5 (2009).
Dr. Antonio Taylor voices his dislike towards Claire Redfield after hearing that she works for TerraSave, and mentions how he holds TerraSave responsible for the Harvardville Airport incident. This was the bio-terrorism attack that took place in the Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008).
Matthew Mercer was returned to voice as Leon S. Kennedy since Resident Evil: Vendetta because Nick Apostolides (now voices Leon in the Resident Evil Remake games) due to scheduling conflict with Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Jill Valentine can't get infected by the T-Virus or any virus because of being experimented on Wesker which is why Dylan didn't infect her.
Leon says to Jill that Alcatraz was once a military Fortress. This is true. The original Fort Alcatraz was completed in 1858. Mounting 85 cannons and a garrison of 200 soldiers it guarded San Francisco Bay. It never was in combat. Also on the island was a prison housing Confederate sympathizers, privateers, and Union soldiers convicted of crimes.
Chris, Leon and Claire are resilient to the infection. They have greater immunity because of their past missions fighting bio terror.
Claire was once infected with T-Phobos, but cured herself of it; avoiding mutation as it could only catalyze with fear.
Leon once was infected with a Plaga, which was dangerously close to taking him over. Even though he expelled it, any enhancements stayed.
Chris has likely taken Anti-C, which was made from the blood of Jake Muller. Jake has virus resistant antibodies due to being Wesker's son.
Dylan didn't target Rebecca as she had been working on cures for viruses ever since Raccoon City. Killing her would be detrimental to the greater good he is harping about.
The opening credits very briefly show Umbrellas certificate of incorporation with the signatures of the three founders. Oswell E. Spencer, Edward Ashford and James Marcus.
Maria holds Leon responsible for the death of her father, even though Chris is responsible for the direct killing of the combined mutation of Arias and Diego.
Mistakes
In the movie, they called it a vaccine but is actually a cure. When a vaccine can only be used before the virus is contracted, not after.
