Synopsis

It's been two months since the incident at the mansion outside Raccoon City.  The Umbrella Corporation under the city had a serious accident involving the T-Virus being released and has infected the city, turning the citizens into zombies, and the same monsters from the mansion incident.  

Leon S. Kennedy is starting his first day as a rookie R.P.D. cop, but unfortunately he arrives in Raccoon City just to in time to get involved in the virus outbreak.  And Claire Redfield arrives in Raccoon City at the same time as Leon (but in different locations) in search of her older brother, Chris Redfield, a member of the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team.  Claire and Leon meet up in the city, surrounded by a group of cannibal zombies.  They run to a police SWAT car and drive off, avoiding the zombies.

While driving on their way to the police station, a zombie causes Leon to lose control of the car, causing him to crash into a sign.  An infected truck driver drives out of control towards them, and both Leon and Claire bail out of the police car just in the nick of time before the semi truck plows into the car, causing an explosion and that Leon and Claire to separate.  The two go off alone to locate the police station, where they feel they will be safe, but they find out, that isn't the case.

They locate the RPD station where it's infested with more zombies and monsters.  There, they must explore the station for any survivors, solve puzzles so they can escape alive while battling the undead and monsters.

While searching around the RPD, Claire finds a young girl named Sherry, the daughter of William and Annette Birkin, the researchers at the Umbrella Chemical Plant.  Sometimes, Sherry will wonder off and other times, she follows Claire as her protector.  In the sewers, Claire loses Sherry into a garbage chute, where her G-Virus infected father, William Birkin, infects Sherry and now it's a race to find the vaccine in order to save her.

Meanwhile, Leon locates a Chinese woman named Ada in the police station basement.  They sometimes work together to get their way through the police station, the sewers and the underground Umbrella Chemical Plant.
